The Blue Line

I was introduced to the blue line when Cory became a police officer. This simple symbol is a sign of mourning and love for officers that fall in the line of duty. In the 7 months that I have been a part of the police family I have needed to use the symbol three times. It is with a very sad an selfish heart  that I sit here minutes after Cory left for work tonight writing this post and wishing he were home.

People die every day doing their jobs but for some reason it it harder for me knowing that my husband is put in multiple situations a day that could be potentially life threatening. I might have trouble sleeping tonight.

Utah lost a great man and officer today. I hope and pray for the Wride family that they may feel peace and comfort. R.I.P. Officer Cory Wride.

On a lighter note I went to Zumba today and only ate 1200 calories again.

Cougar?????

Last night I sad to stay at work later than usual due to some changes that suddenly took place at work so I did not leave until 6:30 last night. Right when I got home I had to change clothes and go to Zumba and when I got home I went right to sleep. It was a busy day for me. But when I woke up today I got a call from Cory who was just coming home from work and he asked me if anyone knocked on our door this morning. I was a little confused and he told me that there were tracks (in our 3 inches of snow). He went to investigate the tracks and noticed that they were rather large paw tracks the kind a big cat like a cougar or a bobcat might make!! The tracks went right up to my porch!!! Now I am scared there is a wild cat living near my house! I better keep Hercules inside!


I ate Subway twice yesterday, breakfast and lunch and I cant remember what I had for dinner.

I was unable to do Hip Hop Abs due to being so busy but I still got Zumba in so I don't feel as bad.

Ice Skating vs. Brick Oven

Last night when I got home form work I did an hour of Hip Hop abs and this time I tried really hard to do everything with full intensity! I don't think I have ever sweat so bad in my life!!!

For the young women activity last night we were supposed to go ice skating at Seven Peaks. When we got there the line was super long and the rink was so packed that we decided that we did not want to risk dying among the crowd and we should go to brick oven instead. We got to brick oven and ordered......1.5 hours later our food came (brick oven was not even crowded) the pizza was gross and it was not very fun to have to wait that long.


As I was dropping some of the girls off after the activity, I got my first "I love you Sister Lewis" from this ward. In my old ward in Spanish Fork I had the same calling and was put in around October and it took until about February for me to get my first I love you and I have been in my calling here in Payson since October and it took about the same amount of time. It is the best feeling in the world to know these 12-13 year girls are beginning to get to know me and love me. (This last sentence was not meant to sound creepy in any way.)

I ate 1360 calories.

Date Night!

Last night when I go home from work I decided that we needed to go on a date!

Our date consisted of:
5:30 PM Car wash for my car
6:30 PM Cory buying 3 new pairs of jeans
7:00 PM Dinner at Red Robbin
8:30 PM Watched the movie Elysium from Red Box

We had such a grand old time!

I did not do my work out last but I forgot to write on my last two posts that I did 1 hour of hip hop abs both on Saturday and Sunday.

Sunday Lessons

I had the privilege of teaching my beehives this Sunday but this is probably the first time I did not plan one! For those of you know me, you know that I am a very well planned out person. I like planning and making sure everything goes right!

I went into the classroom ready to make something up about the topic. As I was sitting there it hit me what I should do! The topic was "Who are you? and who do you want to become?" I had all the girls go around the circle and have them tell us in their words who they are. Some of the girls talked about their hobbies, siblings, family, friends, etc. Then I went around the circle and told each of them who I see them as. I said things like worthy daughter of god, characteristics and spiritual qualities that I see in each of them. Then we went around the room and I had all the girls tell me what they want to become. The girls said things about families, school, occupation, etc. Then I shared with them a beautiful song I love and just happen to already have on my phone called "What heaven sees in you" The song talks about what God sees in his daughters. Then I went on to bear my testimony about being a daughter of God and how I am so glad I have the calling that I have because this calling is part of what I want to become!

Overall it was a great lesson for not having any thing planned!

I was going to watch the Grammy's but I still had a bunch of my book to read so I decided to read instead because that book is just so good!

That was my Sunday!

So busy!!

I have not posted since Saturday so in order to catch up I am going to write a few quick posts because it will help me feel better!

Saturday was a busy day!

Zumba, Grocery Store, Cleaning house, Laundry, and then I did start reading my book club book which I could hardly put down. It is amazing and has me laughing and crying I recommend it to everyone!

I started feeling a little sick to my stomach on Saturday night so I just went to sleep.

Friday Night

Cory and I try to do something once a week that most people call date night. We call it yummy dinner night! Lately we have been going on Fridays. Last night I got off work at 7:00 PM and when I got home we went straight to mi ranchito in Payson. It was really good today. One time I went there and got sick after, but not this time.

When we got home from dinner it was almost time for Cory to go to work so I only did a half hour of hip hop abs.

Friday nights are a little boring and a little rushed but oh well.

I ate 1400 calories today.

Hyper Cat

Yesterday my little cat Hercules was way too hyper. Usually he sleeps all day long and all night long. That was not the case yesterday. I have never seen him be so hyper for so long. He was meowing at everything for no reason. I let him go outside for a bit today thinking he could go run around and blow off some steam but that did not work either. Finally right before I left for Zumba he was starting to get tired.


Last night I did my hour of hip hop abs and then went to my hour of Zumba. I have been getting a little down on my self lately because I have lost nine pounds this year and am stuck at 9 pounds down and once I get to 10 I get to post another picture here on my blog. I cant seem to get to 10 pounds gone!. So at Zumba last night I was trying extra hard and trying to have a little fun (Zumba is soooooo fun) while I was having fun the instructor at one point said "Sarah is really picking it up back there!" It was one sentence that helped with a little motivation to keep going.

Zumba Cancelled!

Last night I was going to take one of my friends with me to the Zumba class that I have gone to a couple times and I was really excited. The zumba instructor is 20 weeks pregnant and had to cancel due to not feeling very well. I was a little bummed because I was so excited but want her to get feeling better.

Last night I did 1 hour of hip hop abs, cleaned the house a little, and then went to sleep.

Sometimes my life seems pretty uneventful but oh well!

Young Women Activity

Last night I had young women's and we made Come Unto Christ blocks. While we were painting the blocks I was helping some girls pass off some of their personal progress tasks.

I really love working with the young women in the church I think that it keeps me young! I feel like if there is any one in this world I can help it is teenage girls!.

I did not work out last night because I needed a night off (and Pretty Little Liars was on). I don't know if I will post again tonight but I need to have another day where I post two in one day.

Hungry and Exhausted.....

Last night I had every intention of posting but fell asleep too quickly. I have heard that it takes 21 say to make or break habbits and it has now been 21 days and I am far too tired to think of what new habits I have made. For 2 days now I have been hungry and maybe the 1200 calories a day is far to less for my body to eat at this time and it is taking its toll on me. So since I am working out for multiple hours a day and buring a lot of calories, I am going to up my calories to 1500.



Last night I did 2 hours of hiphop abs, organized some of my basement, and then fell right asleep.

Back on track

Now that I am finally caught up on posting everything can get back to normal.

Today I woke up, went to church, came home, organized some stuff, went to my moms for dinner, came home, did hip hop abs, folded laundry, organized some more stuff and now I am sitting on my bed getting ready to go to sleep.

Sundays are a little more peaceful for me not super eventful. The highlight of my day was I got to hold my little nephew Gavin. He is such a cutie!

Well that is all I have time to write because I was supposed to be asleep 10 minutes ago since I have to wake up at 4 AM tomorrow!!!

Saturday: A day to get things done.

Today I was determined to get some things done.

9:00 AM = Went to a Zumba class for my second time. (I was still incredibly sore so it was a lot harder this time) While I was there I got talking to the lady teaching and she knows that I have danced ballroom for many years and asked me if I could possibly teach a ballroom class for some of her dance students. This would be awesome for me so I told her that if she needed me to I could!

10:30 AM= Went grocery shopping and bought some fun stuff for my police wife secret sister. (Since Cory was hired on with Springville City Police I joined a Facebook group for police wife's in Utah. They have a group of wife's that do a secret sister thing for 6 months. Every month for the 6 months I basically door bell ditch and drop off some sort of present for a police wife and every month I get a present from an unknown wife in return)

12:00 PM = Cleaned my house. I have been so focused on working out lately that I have not deep cleaned my house for 2 weeks and I usually do it at least once a week.

3:30 PM = Did hip hop abs for 30 minutes. I am extremely sore and it just about killed me.

Now and until bed= Watching the SAG award show and cuddling with my little Hercules

I burned about 2700 calories today according to my fit bit, and ate 1300.


So Sore

Today I am determined to post twice to get caught up.

I was so sore yesterday I could hardly walk!! I hear that it is good to be sore and good to continue to work out while sore. I did my hip hop abs last night and could barley get through it. I am so exhausted today so I can even think about what I ate yesterday.

This post is short because I am going to post another one about today.

Zumba Class

Once again I forgot to post twice in a day to get caught up so I am still one post behind.

Last night I went to a Zumba class with my sister-in-law Tasha. It was so much fun! There is a lady in Tasha's ward that teaches Zumba from a dance studio she has in her basement. It was a little intense. During a water break the lady teaching the class asked me if I was a dancer because I looked so poised. This made my day to know that although my body had fat on it I have still got some moves!

I did 1 hour of hip hop abs before going to the 1 hour zumba class. I burned 2500 calories yesterday and at 1250!!!

At 2:00 in the morning I woke up suddenly with a sharp headache and it would not go away and I know this was due to me not having enough water throughout the day so I really need to focus on water intake so that does not happen again.

Book Club

When I moved into my house back in October I was asked by a lady in my ward if I wanted to join a book club. I have never been a part of a book club and thought it would be fun so I said yes. The first book we read was called Edenbrooke and it was a great book.

Last night (since I forgot to post again), I went to my first book club meeting. There are about 15 ladies and it was fun to sit and chat about the book and have fun while doing it.

The next book that we have selected to read in our book club is "These is my words" I know nothing about it but apparently it is a wonderful book so I am excited to read it.

I did not have a chance to work out last night and it was the first day I did not religiously track my calories. I did however track breakfast and lunch and I am pretty sure I ate 1250 calories yesterday.

Forgot again....Young Women

I think I keep forgetting to blog not because I am lazy, but because I am busy!

Yesterday when I got off of work I made some orange chicken and rice for dinner.

Then right after dinner I had to get my hour of hip hop abs in before going to my young women activity at 7:00. The 2014 Youth theme is Come unto Christ. So all the lessons and activities for the year are supposed to tie in with the theme in some way.


For the activity last night we had a planning meeting about all of the activities that we are going to do for the rest of the year. Did you know that 12 year old girls come up with some of the craziest things to do? All of my girls know that I do this hip hop ab workout and so now they have all decided that they want to do that for an activity to talk about health and fitness. I think it will be fun to watch the girls do hip hop abs!!

The planning meeting lasted almost until 9:00! It took so long because the girls kept coming up with so many crazy ideas that we would never in a million years do!

When I got home I was just so tired and wanted to sit and watch Pretty Little Liars (My now not so secret addiction)

I ate exactly 1200 calories yesterday.

I will hopefully post again tonight so that I can turn this blogging thing into a habit!

New Schedule

I am really happy today! I started a new schedule at work and it is wonderful!! I don't have to work Saturdays any more so I get two days off in a row and I get off at a reasonable hour. This new schedule will be great for me and allow me to do some things I have been putting off.

Today I ate 1262 Calories.

I am really loving my hip hop ab routines!


Hopefully I get to my ten pounds down shortly!


Forgot to post!

Oh my goodness. I forgot to post yesterday!! I had the longest Sunday nap ever. I did not even track my calories for the day! I did work out though 30 min of hip hop abs.

I am going to post a second time today after I am done with my workout to make up for not posting yesterday.

Cinnamon Rolls

Today I made cinnamon rolls!!!! But they are not for me. I am teaching my young women lesson tomorrow and I always like to have a little something for them. I worked out a lot today. I did 1 hour of my hip hop ab routine and then 8 routines from my zumba fitness game. I am exhausted now. To exhausted to type what I ate today.

I did eat 1300 calories today though.

Fuzzy little cat

I really love coming home to a fuzzy little cat. It makes me so happy when I come home from work and a little cat is always there wanting to cuddle with me. It makes things a little easier especially when I am home alone a lot.

I really need to focus on eating a little more food each day but with my work schedule it is hard to find time to eat.

I also took the day off from working out since I have been going strong for 8 days with out a break.

I know I was a little low on calories today but I was not hungry.  I did my 30 minutes of hip hop abs today and that was pretty much my day.

Sleep.....

Today I was really tired and just wanted to sleep all day but I did not. I got up and went to the dentist. I have two cavities ...BOO!!! Then I went to my moms house and walked up and down her stairs so many times helping her take down all her Christmas decorations. When I came home I had a nice lunch with my husband and then we watched a movie. The whole movie I had to fight to stay awake. After the movie I went to my young women activity which was fun becasue we went to an old folks home and played bingo with the residents.

Food that I ate today-

Exhausted but feeling good!

Today I am exhausted!!! Last night I did 45 minutes of my Zumba game because I was just having so much fun! I only got 5 hours of sleep last night according to my fit bit. I don't think I can write much more on this post because I am so tired and just want to fall asleep. Today I did my 30 minutes of hip hop abs and another 45 min of Zumba.

Baby Shower and Self Control

Today I helped throw a baby shower for my little sister Emily who just had a baby. There was all sorts of candy and cupcakes and carbonated punch.... yum... did I eat any of it???? NO!!! I really wanted to though but I had such self control and that is partly due to the fact that I knew I had to blog and did not want to blog that I ate a bunch of junk food.


I got 8 hours of sleep last night which was refreshing. When I woke up this morning I deep cleaned my house so I burned a lot of calories doing that.

Food for today

I did my hip hop ab routine for 30 minutes today and it is getting easier each time which is good because it was difficult to get through the first couple times I did it.

Cramps

Today was a tough day to get through. For those of you readers who do not know much about me I have some serious female issues....so when that time of the month comes around I am not a happy camper. Between the severe pain and stomach issues getting through today was not easy.


I woke up at 5:00 AM and checked my fit bit to see how long I slept because I did not feel that I slept very well. My Fit bit showed that I slept for 6 Hours and 11 minutes with 59 of those minutes in a restless sleep.

Food for the day

Breakfast:
1 Carnation Instant Breakfast = 60 Calories
1 Cup of Milk = 130 Calories

Lunch:
3 oz Carrots = 34 Calories
1 TBSP Ranch = 65 Calories
1 Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich =439 Calories
1 Activia Greek yogurt = 130 Calories
1 String Cheese = 80 Calories

Dinner:
10 Better Cheddars =73 Calories
1 Package fruit Snacks = 90 Calories
1 Ham and Cheese Hot Pocket = 340 Calories

Total Calories= 1441

I have not done my work out for the day but I am about to attempt it in a few minutes. I just feel so lousy today and am in pain but I told my self I would work out so that is what I am going to do.

FitBit

Today I got a FitBit!!! This little device tracks sleep patterns, activity, food and water intake. It is water proof and can be worn all the time.

This will help me on my weight loss journey. Too bad I did not have it last night because I slept horribly. I don't think that I got very much sleep at all.

I have had a headache all day and I know it is because I stopped all caffeine. I did wake up at 5:00 AM but was so tired due to lack of sleep. I just sat on the couch I had no energy to get on my exercise bike.

Food for the day:

Breakfast:

1 Cup Milk = 130 Calories

Lunch:
1 Activia Greek Yogurt = 130 Calories
1 Slice Banana Bread = 190 Calories
3/4 Oz Cheese = 80 Calories

Tomato Sauce = 35 Calories
12 Oz Orange Juice = 170 Calories

Total Daily Calories=1115

I struggled worse today with water I only drank 1 water bottle. I am going to go do 30 minutes of a "Hip Hop Ab" Workout routine and hopefully I will drink a bunch of water in the process.

Before Picture

This is a picture of what i look like right now as I start my weight loss journey.
Every ten pounds down I will post a new picture so I can see the changes.

Today I woke up and did a 30 minute "Hip Hop Ab" routine. I like dance/workout videos because I can learn the routines quickly and they are way fun once I get them mastered. I think working out needs to be fun!

I also want to use this blog as my food journal/ calorie counter so part of my post will just be the food I ate.

Breakfast:
2 Whole Wheat Slices of bread  = 240 Calories
2 Tablespoons Peanut Butter = 190 Calories
1 Cup Milk = 110 Calories

Lunch:
3 Ounces of Carrots  = 35 Calories
2 Tablespoons Ranch  = 140 Calories
1 Yoplait Greek Yogurt  = 130 Calories

Dinner:
Cheese Ravioli with tomato Sauce  = 250 Calories
1 Cup Milk = 110 Calories

Total Calories for today =1205

One thing that I will need to work on is my water intake. I have never liked drinking a lot of water in fact it makes me feel sick. So today I have been trying really hard and am only at 35 ounces for the day. I know that making sure I am drinking a lot of water will help me so I need to make sure to focus on it.
